Myrtle beach city is well known for its “Versatility”, is the main feature of South Carolina. Huntington Beach State Park is just minutes from Myrtle Beach and offers visitors a secluded spot to relax and swim. The pristine coastal area is perfect for fishing, birdwatching, and watching the alligators from the dock. Basically, once in Myrtle Beach you can find several piers amazing for fishing, with fabulous on-pier restaurants and entertainment. The 60 miles of amazing sandy beach has much to offer for every type of entertainment and interest! South Carolina is also visited for its cities, starting obviously from the Capital, Columbia, which presents, from an architectural point of view, various alternatives.
It goes from Matthew J. Perry Couthouse and Robert Mills House, colonial-style residences, to the South Carolina Statehouse, much more impressive. From the churches, like the First Presbyterian and the Trinity Episcopal, to the Busted Plug sculpture, a fine example of modern art. Another city not to be missed is certainly Charleston, the most populous, where the atmosphere is reminiscent of the Caribbean, with large palm trees and tropical climate, and where the old town is characterized by long rows of tall, narrow houses and colored stucco. Worthy of mention is the Charleston Museum, rich in finds related to the history of the city, and the Gibbes Museum of Art, an exhibition with many interesting works. If you have some more day you should totally go for a road trip to spend some time by the sea without missing the chance to full immerse into the local culture and history of the enchanting and interesting state! But here, in South Carolina, any kind of vacation is possible.
Do not miss The Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway, a spectacular and breathtaking road especially in the fall, and the state parks, forty-seven in all, where you can camp face to face with the Ocean.
