What once was a beach house catering to vacationers in the 1930’s for the last 50 years has been a award-winning restaurant. Since 1962, Sea Captain’s House has been serving guests low-country appetizers, seafood, salads, and desserts. Known as a local’s favorite, they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Sea Captain’s menu tempts with an array of fresh ingredients. For breakfast try the Brie and Bacon omelet, Eggs Benedict, Crab Cakes Benedict, or fill a plate from the full breakfast buffet. For Lunch and Dinner start with an appetizer like McClellanville Crab Dip, Sea Island Shrimp, She Crab Soup or Oyster Stew. Dive into a generous sandwich like the Fried Flounder, Crab Cake, Roasted Chicken, The Captain’s Club, or a Sea Captain’s Burger. All sandwiches are served with a pickle, fries or a pasta salad. The salads are large and hearty: Avocado Sea Fare, Shrimp, Caesar, Crab, or Chicken and Fruit. Try the large and delicious portion of Fresh Baked Quiche of the Day. Entrees include Sea Island Shrimp, Salad Trio, Jambalaya, Crab Cakes, Low Country Crab Casserole, Grilled Pork Chops, Chicken Oscar and much more. They also offer a vegetarian, gluten-free, and children’s menus upon request and have daily specials. Don’t forget to leave room for coffee and dessert like Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee and Hot Fudge Sauce Cake among others all under $6.00. Menu prices range from $7.50-22.50. They have a wine and beer list as well.
From the inviting decor to the ocean view Sea Captain’s House makes their guests feel “at home”. They have several rooms for their guests to dine; The Blue Room, The Chart Room, The Red Room, The Sun Room and The Patio. Guests are treated to beautiful views, live music and seating that varies from white-linen to wrought iron tables. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They do not accept reservations but waiting is made more comfortable with plush couches and nostalgic decorations.
