A Liverpool resident for 48 years, I am passionate about the city, its history and its future. I have been guiding for 11 years, first as a local foreign language guide and then, since 2013 as a qualified, insured Blue Badge Guide. I graduated as winner of the prestigious Institute of Tourist Guiding “Guide of the Year” and also won a prize for designing a walk in a contest held by the Liverpool RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects). With a degree in French and 5 years residence in France, tours are offered in French as well as English.
This walk centres on the Hope St area, recently voted the UK’s best urban street and home to universities, theatres and top restaurants. An area still visited regularly by Paul McCartney, thank to the presence of Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA), housed in his former school, we will also see John’s College of Art and his birthplace as well as his favourite pubs. Learn about their student days and what happened when Paul auditioned for the Anglican Cathedral.
Liverpool Entente Cordiale Tours has an expanding customer base, in Liverpool, Britain and abroad. Guided Tours and Walks have been provided to many UK coach companies, U3A and Women’s Institute groups, French schools, Marie France magazine, Vichy Rotary, visiting journalists on behalf of The Mersey Partnership and Olympique Marseille FC, amongst others.
We can also provide illustrated PowerPoint talks for local associations and groups – enquire if interested.
