I Want to go to New Zealand

I want to travel to New Zealand. I've never been before but am desperate to go, but I've never done anything like this before. I would ideally like to work there so I would have some income, but I have no idea how/where to apply. My background is selling membership/welcoming visitors in historical places. I'd be going alone so I'd like to live in city so I could meet people. Any ideas? My dream destination is Wellington but would be open to anywhere.

As a Brit under 30 you can get a one year Working Holiday Visa for NZ. People usually travel around doing casual work rather than stay in one place for the year. Wellington is fine but the cities aren't the highlight of NZ. Taking jobs like on hostel receptions or other tourist facing roles make it easy to move around.

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely check it out 🙂

I may want to move over to NZ permanently, but would like to try it out first before I make the decision. I just don't want to lose a lot of money while travelling, because I don't have a lot of money already. Is it easy to find work while travelling around?

You should be able to pick up work fairly easily as long as you're prepared to be flexible.

I used this website when I arrived in NZ as a backpacker many years ago and it has some good resources.

Hmm.... How much is salary in NZ? It's possible to get work there as a foreigner?

As with any country, salary depends on the type of job. The minimum wage is NZD15.75. Foreigners can work here on the appropriate visa.
