If you are coming to work in a resort, everything would be taken care of.

no, at a school - I was actually supposed to fly out this week but got MAJOR red flags and had to turn down the offer. So I guess I'm in Canada for now.... unless you know of any resorts/ schools hiring!

That's interesting. What kind of red flags did you get?

Both of the aforementioned issues were later rectified, but after much needling from me, which didn't put me in a good place with the organization. Additionally, I was offered the position early in the year, and thus quit my current job/ found replacements for my housing situation/ dealt with my transportation in Canada and was then consistently given reasons why I would be leaving later in the year (about a month after the initial offer of employment)

Seems pretty reasonable to me. If you don't mind, may I ask why you why you wanted to come here? I'm a Maldivian and always wonder why expats come here. Most of them are from poorer countries, but Maldives is poorer compared to Canada.

I've been working and traveling for the past couple of years and am pretty open and eager to learn about different cultures and countries. To be perfectly honest, I am/was looking for a position where I wouldn't have to deal with the snow/ cold that is Canada, and I would have loved to be near a beach.

20’s Canadian F? Going to build hours flying Twotters?

Is this a Maldivian reference? An obscure Canadian reference?! I'm just going to nod my head...

It’s a pilot expression - a Twotter is a Twin Otter. Lots of the seaplanes out there are Canadian made. Lots of young Canadian pilots go there to get experience flying.
